Working in conjunction with the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), Baton Rouge will once again play host to a national college fair on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. The event will be held at the Baton Rouge River Center, and is free and open to the public. With open browse times from 9:00 am-12:00 & 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, students and parents will have the opportunity to meet with college representatives from across the country and attend topical information sessions on college admissions. Last year’s fair attracted over 70 colleges and universities from across the country and approximately 6,000 high school students. This year’s fair is even bigger, with over 80 colleges and universities registered to attend.
Once again, students have the option to register beforehand, and take advantage of the Lead Retrieval System. When a student registers, he or she is assigned a unique barcode that is printed out and brought to the fair. When the student visits a college’s table, instead of filling out an inquiry card, the college representative will scan the barcode, automatically downloading and saving the student’s information. It’s quick, easy, and saves time from having to fill out numerous information cards. Registering ahead of time is strongly recommended.
