The Jazz Band is one that compares to no other! The group has been booked with several events.
Recently the Jazz Band performed at both Ollie Steele Nursing Home and Jefferson Manor Nursing Home. The Ollie Steel residents had a Senior Prom and the Jazz Band provided the music! Phillip Scardina '15 requested to serenade his grandmother and her friends who reside at Jefferson Manor. John Gray, Band director, shares, "Just another community service performance and a chance to connect with our community."
In late April, a crowd gathered in The Brown-Holt Chapel Arts Center for an Evening of Jazz. The Jazz Band played songs from Duke Ellington to Herbie Hancock, all with The Blues as the theme of the night. The concert ended with a good old New Orleans Second Line and an Encore, featuring one of Dunham's 2014 Alumni, Ryan Ngo. It was another great night of music!
That's not it for the Jazz Band! It's time to attend the 12th Annual Hot Art, Cool Nights in MidCity. The Jazz Band will perform this Friday at Bistro Byronz from 6pm-10pm. You won't want to miss one of the last performances of 2015-2015 year.
