As part of a unit on persuasive writing, my fourth graders wrote letters to Mrs. LaPlace about a change they would like to see at The Dunham School. Charlie Dantin wrote a letter (see below) suggesting that the students pick the lunch menus. Mrs. LaPlace arranged with Sage Dining Manager, Lauren Guy to grant his wish. The fourth graders met together and chose an entree, side, and dessert. On April 13, our 4th grade chefs for the day enjoyed their proposed menu—chicken nuggets, corn on the cob, chips and ice cream sundaes— during 2nd-4th grade lunch.
